  1. One night, as three men were going home from Cashel, they saw a little woman on a stile combing her hair. One of the men went over and snatched the comb from her. He put it in his pocket and went home.
    When he had been in the house a few hours, he heard a cry outside the window. The little woman came there in search of her comb, and the man, placing it on the tongs, passed it to her out through the window. This woman is supposed to have been the Banshee.
