    Signs of Wet Weather:
Mackeral sky not twenty four hours dry.
    The moon on its back
Clouds come down on SLiab na mBan and they are also seen in wool packs in the sky when rain is coming.
A rainbow in the morning is a shepherd's warning a rainbow in the night is a shepherds delight.
With the approach of rain, there is a red sunrise, sea gulls come inland for shelter, crows fly wildly about, flapping their wings and cawing, curlews come over fields and bogs, wild geese come from the bogs and ponds, starlings are seen in flocks, the robin is seen perched low on a bush.
If the thrush continues to sing until late Autumn the Winter will be severe
The goat hides under the trees, the cat turns his back to the fire and washes over his ears, the dog drinks water and eats grass, with the approach of wet weather
