    of the Commonwealth, to which they sent the following answer Nov. 2nd 1653.
    In obedience to your honours reference, having taken into consideration the articles of Fethard and the testimony of the good affection of the inhabitants of the said town to the English interest in the beginning of the rebellion, an the constant manifestation of their good affection sinc ethe said articles and the expressions of the Lord Lieutenant and the late Lord Deputy upon consideration of their articles that they were a people to be differenced fromt he rest of the whole nation.
    We hmble offer that the said inhabitants may enjoy the benefit of their articles int he place where they now live and not to be transplanted into Connaught or elsewhere.
