- About forty years ago there lived in the parish of Mullinahone a very strong man whose name was James Winkle. He was a native of Co. Cork and was a member of the Royal Irish Constabulary. He was over six feet two inches in height with strong limbs and slight body. At the time he performed this feat which I shall describe he was about twenty six years of age.One day a group of men were talking together of the strong men they knew, and telling of the great feats they had performed.
