    waited until the following morning. Mr. O'Shea went early to Mr. Hawe's apartments to tell him the news. On approaching, Mr. Hawe addressed him, saying:
    "Good morning Mr. O'Shea
    That all the way from Kylotlea
    What news have you for me to-day?"
    To which Mr. O'Shea replied:
    "Good morning, Mr. Hawe,
    That wears whiskers round your jaw
    You're as fine a man as ever I saw,
    But the Ballycullen tenants were bet in the law."

  2. Once a man was getting married in Ballingarry who was a kind of an amadán. He got a wife like himself. When he went up to the rails to be married the priest asked: "Will you take Katie to be your wife"? The man answered: "Would you advise me to do so, father?" Then when it came to the time to put the ring on the priest told him to put it on, but the man answered:
