- One evening many years ago two masons were on their way home from a quarry which was about 500 yards from St Pekaun's well, they were passing Pekaun's graveyard as it is called, they noticed a very large stone there. One remarked to the other that it would make a very good corner stone, but the other told him not to interfere. The first was not to be put off, and he went in and broke it in two with his sledge.
He died in his sleep that night.
The stone is there to be seen yet.- Informant
