- (continued from previous page)short time the farmers wife came in and she told the tailor she could not make the butter. The tailor said she did make it and she said "Where is it, it is not in the churn" "No" said he, "it is not in the churn for for I kept the woman from taking it who took the fire" The woman said "Where is it" "Go over there and turn up that pot" said he. When she went over she found that the pot was full of butter and she was very thankful to the tailor.
- There was a man one time named Robin. He earned his living by begging. One day he got only a few pence and he had no place to go to sleep that night because he had not the price of any lodging. So when the night came he had no place to go but into a big field where hay pikes were and he got up on one of them and went down into it and covered himself up. He woke up in the middle of the night and he heard a terrible lot of noise.(continues on next page)
