  1. Travelling folk are still to be seen nearly every week in this district of Carhue.
    The names of four kinds of travelling folk, the tinkers, the show people or circus tribe and the gypsies.
    The Carthy's are the most popular of the tinkers in this district. They are descendants of the kings of Munster. They have a home in Cashel near the rock, and they are buried there also.
