There is gold supposed to be hidden in the island and a monster minding it. Some time ago John Daly and Sonny Kelly of Cragg went looking for it and when they were gone a certain depth they heard an empty sound like stones falling and they fled. It is said a woman is seen combing her hair on the shore of the island every fifty years.
