The church of Clondegad,
As once it stood in its old ground
When I was but a lad. Its tower so square and slanting roof
And ivy covered walls,

And to my mind recalls. The Whtestones' home for centuries,

The last sons of that ancient house,
Have left dear Erin's shore. I seem to see the water-fall,
Fast by the ruined mill,
I seem to see the Fergus broad,
