She followed them on until she caught sight of them again. She told him to take a drop of sweat from the horses ear and let it fall behind him. He did so and a lake appeared. On St Brigid's Eve the people of this locality put a cross up on the rafters of the house.
The old person made their cross of straw but the young ones make a wooden cross.
The young people are not able to make the straw cross.
