    a half to two years and a half old. A shilling is paid out of beasts from two years and a half upwards. Two pence is paid out of a bonham and two shillings is paid out of a horse.
    The owners of the fair-greens keep the fair-greens clean and in good order and that is why they collect the "custom".
    Sometimes if a man wanted to buy a beast and had not the full amount of money he would give some of the money as for example a half crown and promise to pay the rest when he would take the beast. That half crown would be called "eirnist".
    When people have a deal made they spit on their fists or strike the palms of the hands together or say "throw the dirt on them" to show that there is a deal made.
