- Signs for the weather
If the cat sits with its back to the fire that is the sign of rain.
If the dog eats grass that is a sign of rain
If the sea gulls go to the sea in the evening the next day will be good
A red sky in the evening is for dry weather and a red sky in the morning is the rain
If there is a blue blaze in the fire at night what is the sign of rain, and if the sheep are all lying together in a heap that is the sign of dry weather
If the crows were lying in the fields in the evenings that is a sign of storm
If clocks creep about the floor at night that is the sign of rain.
If the curlew whistles that is the sign of rain.
