    The matchless sweet goddess of May
    Have you from Parnassus descended
    Around this sweet town of Dunleer.

    With rosy sweet blushes she answered
    I humbly request you beware
    Dont tantalise if by chance Sir
    You have met one who is burdened with care
    Im far from beuing grand or celestid
    My joys are all tourned to tears
    Im nearly a creature terrestrial
    Thaw dwells near the town of Dunleer

    O lovely sweet charmer come tell me
    What makes you lament or complain
    Or why do you chide or repel me
    Before I my passion explain.
    How comes it that you are tormented
    Has cupid touched you with his spear
    Perhaps I would make you contented
