  2. Once there was a strong man called Pat Mc Cabe who lived over near Dunany. One day himself and six other men had a bet on who should pull a cart load of manure up a steep hill. They said they would give a pint of whiskey to the winner. Then they all said they could pull it up, and then the fun began.
    The first started and pulled it half way up the hill and when he could go no further up the cart ran back to the bottom of the hill so he was no further on. They all [?] except Pat Mc Cabe tried;
