  1. 1. There are some ruins still left to mark the places of ancient monuments, and castles, which still remain about Dunleer.
    Some of these monasteries, castles were erected to the memory of some great man who lived in this part, or to some person who was re-elected to parliament. Those are as follows the ruins which still remain.
    2. About one mile up the main road to Drogheda there is a lane which leads to a castle now owned by Mr Slowne. The old people up there
