    If any evil thing come near me
    I hope the Blessed Virgin will come and save me.

    Here I lay me down to sleep
    to God I give my soul to keep
    God within me, God without me
    God Almighty all round about me
    There are four corners on my bed
    There are four angels overspread
    Mathew, Mark, Luke & John
    God bless this bed that I lie on.
    God the father bless me
    God the son defend and keep me
    God the Holy Ghost .... and sanctify me
