- Many people long ago earned their living by trade. There was a man long ago named Mr Connolly whose trade was a leather cutter. His shop is not there now but Mr Loughlins shop marks the place.
The tenors shop was situated at the top of John St. Nearly every boot-maker in the town bought their leather from him.
There was another man whose trade was barrel making. He lived at Stockwell St and made a good trade with Breweries and sometimes made barrels for vegetable(continues on next page)- Collector
