    Years ago there lived in Dunleer a man named John Corcoran and who was known as the local poet.

    called Tenure, as they were passing a farm house by the name of Kelledy the band started playing and John Corcoran who was with the band said that one of Kelledys calves died with the fright of the music and the song he wrote went like this. "A band from Dunleer a calf they did kill.
    Going up to Tenure by a crowd they were led.
    When they struck up a tune and the calf he dropped dead.
    With the note of a pipe and the beat of the drum.
    Sure away like the dickens
