- Spunk
This is a very big weed which grows in almost every garden in Duleek. It is soft and cool.
Long ago when meal or oats were scarce spunk leaves were boiled & given to fowl or animals. They were generally mixed with flour or potatoes after being boiled.
Dandelion
This herb is one of the most annoying to the gardener & is very plentiful here. It spreads rapidly & must be continually dug up by the root.
