- On the side of a little by-road at Culmullen is St. Nicholas's Well. There are big stone flags fixed all around, and it is paled all around. There is no pattern or pilgrimage to it, and no one remembers one being held there. There is a cure for a headache in the water, and there is a superstition that if any girl goes and drinks the water just before midnight, she is sure to be married.
