    11. Magpies:- One for bad luck, two for good luck, three for a wedding and four for a wake.
    12. It is unlucky to meet a red-haired woman on the road.
    13. It is a sign of a quarrel if you wash your hands in the water used by another unless you make the sign of the cross over the water before you use it.
    14. It is unlucky to leave Christmas decorations hanging up after Twelfth Night or loss in the family is said to occur before the year is out.
    15. If a shoe or a boot-lace be continually coming untied you will soon hear surprising news.
    16.If you trip over a mat or when going up stairs, it signifies a wedding at that home in the near future.
