- Valentines used to be sent on St Valentine's Day up to about forty years ago.
- My mother told me she remembered one funeral at which she heard keening. THe funeral was going to Memker (?) Church, and as she was very young at the time, she could give no particulars but she thought the funeral had come a long distance.
