- Some places are still pointed out as to where mass was said long ago. It is said that priests said mass in an old sand-pit in Martinstown. It is said there were soldiers looking for a priest named Father Doyle in Gilstown, and a man got five pounds for telling on him. The priest was on a horse and crossed a big river, but when the soldiers were crossing the river one of them fell into it, and while the other soldiers was pulling him the priest got away.
