- The travelling people still call to our homes. Some of them have been travelling for years. They are not too poor as they make their living by sell small articles such as laces, tie pins, broaches studs, little statues, holy water fonts. The people buy from them for charity. They obtain their goods in small shops and sometimes from other travellers called "Cheap Johns". These travellers are generally welcomed. Some of them sleep put in huts, but most of them sleep in Clerys Hotel. Some of them have food, and others buy it in the houses.(continues on next page)
