    underneath them. Many of the old tombs are very unlike those of the present day.
    In Ardbraccan graveyard there is a big stone monument with figures carved out on it and even a skeleton's head. There is a bishop buried there. There are vaults underneath the Ardbraccan church. These vaults are hardly ever used. Tradition says that long ago the caretaker of the graves was going round to see that everything was alright, and, as he was going down to lock the door of the vaults, he saw the ghost of a man that had been buried that very day. One a year at the exact same hour, and on the same day the ghost appears in the vault.
