    St. Francis was a great lover of birds. They would flock around him to listen to him and be fed by him.
    Some birds are caught in traps and put in cages. Others are shot for table use.

  2. There are but few old roads in Navan. There is one known as the Athlumney road. It is about half a mile long. There is a hill at one end of this road where it crosses the railway line. A little farther down this road is a graveyard. Nearby is a great big castle know as Athlumney Castle, which is a very historic spot in the County Meath.
    There is another old road known as "Beachmount", leading south from Navan. Very few houses are situated here. It is thickly
