she would see him home only not to speak or he would be left twenty miles from home.
Paddy and the fairy queen started off and she said, "Follow me but don't speak". They galloped away for about twenty miles. Hedges nor ditches would not stop Paddy's horse. She came to a river called the Annas. Paddy's horse took off at full fly and landed on the other side of the river. Said Paddy, "I don't care a jot you are the best horse ever I saw". No sooner had he spoken than Paddy's horse stood still. All he found under him was a big bultern. "Oh my", said Paddy, "where am I or what am I to do". Paddy began to travel round a very large field to which he could find no end. Just as the day went to break he found himself on the top of a high chimney in the town of Louth twenty miles from his home.
