- There is a place on the Rockfield Road about a mile outside Kells, called the Priest's Hollow. It is said that a priest was killed there. He fell off his horse. My grandmother, Mrs. Mulvany who is dead since 1928 told my sister that when she was young she is sure she saw the ghost of a priest on the road one night, while walking home to the down.She had gone out the road a little distance to leave a friend at her home and it was when returning alone that she met the priest. She saw him at the front gate of Rockfield House and he passed quite close to her with his head bent and he did not speak or look at her.(continues on next page)
