- (continued from previous page)The water from Mulrua well near Delvin cures the rose. If he is a man he must sens a boy to bring the water. A present must be given to the person who lifts the water. It will be cured in nine days.
Rose: Water of Lough Crew cures it. A man must send a girl and vice versa. Only a pint of water is to be taken. Don;t look behind.
Mumps: Walk round a pig sty and say "Mucna Mucna, sin agat do leicne''. Do this three times.
Rose: Water of Knockrua, but person who lifts it must have his father and mother living
Chilblains: Pint of sweet oil, venice turpentine, 1/2 oz of lars, 3oz of beeswax. Put it in a saucepan over gentle heat. Stir with bone spoon. Simmer for a few minutes. Get a linen rag put on(continues on next page)- Collector
