A very nice old custom which is slowly dying out, is the lighting of candles on Christmas Eve. On that Eve candles are lighted in all the windows to light the Blessed Virgin and Saint Joseph on their way to Bethlehem when they were looking for a place on that first Christmas Eve of long ago.
These are the chief festivals and customs in our land and it would be a pity if they would die out. They are a link with the past.
