    1. The cure for the hicough is to take three drinks of water between one hicough and another.
    2. To give the person complaining of the hicough a good fright or hold his purse or to hold his breath for a while.
    3. Another cure is to take a good drink of cold spring water.
    4. Another cure is to get a spoonfull of sugar and suck it or to get a sweet called, sugar a candy.
