- There is a big hill beside our house. It is called the Deer-Park. My father told me that it got that name because long ago their was a lot of deer on it. Their are too big stones in one part of it. It is said that Crossakiel was there long ago and the stones are a mark. It is said that the black-pig passed there. There is a tree growing at a crossroads at Reddins and people say that it was there when the black-pig passed. The black-pig was really Cuculainn that was fighting against Maeve.
These stories were told by my father John Darby- Collector
