- We keep hens and ducks. We have many breeds of hens, Black Minocras, White Leghorns, Light Sussex, White Wyandots, Rhode Island Reds, and Plymouth Rock. We have two breeds of ducks, Kahki Campells, and Indian Runners.
We put fifteen eggs in one sitting. We set them at night. It is unlucky to set them on a Sunday. Clay is put under the eggs so that the chickens will be strong when they come out of the eggs. Bits of iron are put under them also, so that the thunder(continues on next page)- Collector
