- There is a road situated at Kilbeg called the Squil-ka road. It was called so because a man named Squil-ka did his best to make it during the famine.
One day he said to his neighbours, come on and we'll make a path across here to get over to Kilbeg house. They made a little path across, and when the times improved the people made a lovely by-road of it. From that day to this it is called the Squil-ka road.
