- Mr Tom Farrell who was the Landlord of Robertstown. He was known locally as “Long Tom” and he lived at Merrion Square, Dublin. He owned a place at Glenageary.
He was considered a very good man in this locality. He built Kilbeg school in the year 1873 which we attend and he used to buy coal to support the fires in it. He used to buy tea, sugar, and tobacco for his tenants and the people he had working for him. He never evicted anyone out of their homes and he lived a very uneventful life. He hung iron gates for himself and the estate and he used to send men to paint them to improve the appearance of the estate. He used(continues on next page)- Collector
