    Then he commanded his assistant to pole the donkey which he did in style. When the donkey got the blow he began to jump and he dismounted his jockey into a pool of water but with the aid of some laurel branches he scrambled out. He mounted his steed again and drove him on to the road; there he was poled again with his jockey on his back.
