    The mudwall house was built in this way. A lot of whitish clay was dug from the ground. This was called leac liath. the stones were taken out of the latter and the clay was mixed up with cut straw or rushes. This was done as a reinforcement. Two feet in height would be built each day. A couple of squares would be left in the walls. A single pane of glass would be stuck in each after it was built for a window.
    The couples would be stuck in the walls opposite each other and would meet in the shape of a Triangle. Ribs would be put on the tops of the couples and secured to them by wooden pegs.
    The people would then go to a bog and dig sods called *"scraws". The latter would then be rolled up and opened out again and put on the ribs. This was done for heat. Straw "wangles" would then be put on. By wangles is meant straw pulled and the grass skaken out of it. It was then stretched and brought to a poing and tied with a few grains of the straw. It was then called a "sapog". The wangles would then be sewed on to the roof in this manner:- Seven or eight
