    In the neighbourhood of Higginstown there is a very ancient mill.

    Coalpits. There is supposed to be a rich vein of coal running there. There was a mine-shaft sunk about thirty or forty feet deep by Lord Conyngham then living at Slane Castle. He was stopped sinking it any deeper by an official of the English government. There is also an old coach road running through here.
