at one time went in for making plough-shares and on certain occasions mould boards but this was discontinued because there was no direct descendant. About two miles north of the village there were two at Knock-mooney. One owned by a man named Callaghan who was famed all over the country for his coachmaking. The other forge was owned by a man named Lane. Horseshoeing and farm implements being his chief speciality. Those are both extinct for years and years. But the remains can still be seen.
