- There is an old story told about an old fort which is in one our fields. It is said that during the fight of Cooley all Queen Maeve's men were going against her. As they were journeying along down the country Queen Maeve met a few men and she told them she would give them her daughter Fennor to marry and at that moment Fennor fell dead. Afterwards the townland around was called Fennor.
