    Written by Maureen Butler, Gortloney, 9th March 1938.
    This is the cure for the dirty mouth.
    If there is a son and his father died before he is born he has the cure of the dirty mouth.
    Whooping Cough:- If a woman has the same name after she is married as she had before she has the cure of the whooping cough.
    Mumps:- Go round the pig sty three times with an asses winkers on and say each time "A leakna! A leakna! Sin agat do Leckna. Muckna, muckna, take now,
    Rheumatism:- Rub goose grease into the place where the rheumatism is.
    Ring Worm:- Make a circle round it with a gold sovereign.
    Sty in the Eye:- Pull ten gooseberry thorns, bless yourself with each of them, point each towards the eye, and throw away the last one. Continue this for nine mornings.
    Measles:- The juice of boiled nettles will cure the measles.
    Running Worm:- If there are seven sons in succession in the family, and if a worm is placed in the seventh son's hand at this birth, and left in it til the worm
