- In the olden days there lived a landlord in Crossdrum named Rotheram. Before he died he took all the land from Gneeve Ballinrinnce and other places and devided it among the Prodestants. Some years after he died and the land was given back again to its owner.
After 1880 there were no evictions because by the exertions of John Dillon and Michael Davitt the land act of 81 was passed which gave the tenant farmers of Ireland the three "f's" namely Fair rent, Fixity of Tenor, and Free sale.- Collector
