  1. One morning about a hundred years ago there was a man digging potatoes in Ballinrink. He saw a man coming running and he looked very tired. When he came as far as the man digging potatoes he told him that the English solders were coming after him to make him prisoner. The man told him to take the spade and to be digging and he would run. The English soldiers passed him and the other man came safe.
