- A bush that stands by itself in the middle of a field is called by the old people a lone bush. Paddy Kenny of Ross once cut a lone bush for fire. He worked very hard for a long time and yet he could not get to the end. It started to rain and he had to leave off until morn. When he went out next day he could not find any cut in the bush at all. So he got afraid and left it alone and he said he would never cut a lone bush again.
