    horse. The night came on which the feast was to be held. Three wives were playing cards together in the parlour. The farmer said to one of the gentleman Call your wife as a messenger. He went ot the parlour and called her she had three cards in her hand she then came down and he said something to her and went back again he called the second wife and the cards were only after being given out and he said something to her and came back. So the farmer sent for his wife and they were just being given out and she threw them down. She said the saddle was never on your backs. Then the farmer said Now isnt my wife the smartest and he won the bet. So they put down the kettle and made the tea.
