- As I am used to see people cutting turf I know all about it.
Before the people start to cut the turf they must have a slane to cut the turf a spade to clean the hole also a greast-slane. First of all he must have about two men along with him self. One man goes down in the hole with the slane and starts to cut while the other person catches them and puts them on the barrow and wheels them out and puts them on the bank. Some people slipe them with an ass. The white turf is cut the first then the brown turf then the stone turf.
Everyone prefers the stone turf. Because the stone turf is the best for baking cakes and boiling pots. The brown turf is cut the first then the stone turf and the are put on the low bank and the white turf on the high bank. The people generally cut the turf in April.
