  1. Some Cures are,
    1. For sore eyes rub cold tea on them,
    2. or boiled milk.
    3. Mix bread soda and water and bathe your eyes with it,
    4. or to wash youre eyes in cold water.
    5. If you had a sty on your eye you should get ten gooseberry thorns and point them to your eye each day and bless yourself with them and throw one of them away every morning till them all are gone
    6. To cure a sore throat roast a stocking of salt and tie it round your neck
    7. To gargle your throat with salt and water
    8. To cure a cold on your chest paint it with camphorated oil
    9. Fry brown paper in lard and put it to it
