  1. Cristopher Blackburn Roverdale Ratharney used to make spinning wheels on which flax was spun. Very few people were able to make those spinning wheels as it was a trade in itself. He used to make them from wood named Scotch Deal as it was is hard sound timber. It is hard to explain how they were made as they were made with such great skill that few people could trace the way in which they were cut out and put together.
