- The Gold in Coyne's Field. One day a hen and a clutch of chickens were scraping under a lone bush in Coyne's field of Craddenstown. One of the Coynes went out to bring her in, when he went over to the tree he noticed there was a flag under it, he lifted up the flag and found a pot of gold under it. He left down the flag again and went in to tell the other people about it, when he came out he found the gold was not there and a voice spoke out of the ground and said "Why didn't you take it when you were getting it" so he never got any gold atall. This account was told to me by Michael Largan, Aged 65 Craddinstown.Farmer.
